Origin of PS128
A component of traditional fermented Taiwanese mustard greens, the Lactobacillus plantarum strain PS128 was isolated in 2007 by a research team at National Yang-Ming University in Taiwan. Led by Professor Ying-Chieh Tsai, they tested nearly 1000 types of Lactobacillus before isolating PS128. Multiple preclinical models first proved its psychobiotic properties, and now human studies are confirming its remarkable benefits to the human mind and body.
Experimental evidence shows that PS128 helps maintain dopamine, serotonin, and other neurotransmitters at healthy levels via the microbiota-gut-brain axis. Imbalance of these hormones manifests through behavioral, neuromuscular, or emotional symptoms. Disorders such as autism spectrum disorders, Parkinson’s, Tourette syndrome, IBS, fatigue, anxiety, depression, insomnia, and stress can result.
Capsule or sachet powder form makes PS128 easy to ingest.
Scientific results show that PS128 effectively resists gastric acidity and bile salts, allowing it to pass through the digestive tract and colonize our gut.
